Bergner’s, the third of the three major retailers to occupy the Quincy Mall, will close its doors forever on Friday, August 31. The closure was announced on April 18, 2018 when Cullinan Properties, owners of the Quincy Mall, confirmed that Bon-Ton, the parent company of Bergner’s announced it was going to liquidate the Quincy facility.

The Quincy location is one of 200 stores they are closing. The Bergner’s store began operations in at the Quincy Mall in October of 1978.

Bergner’s closure follows the closing of the Sears store at the Quincy Mall which closed its doors for good on August 11. Both store closings were preceded by the closure of the J.C Penney Store at the Mall which closed their doors in April of 2015. The J.C. Penney store opened at the Quincy Mall in 1982.
