It's larger than the Smithsonian Museum of Natural History and it's full of fish. Lots and lots of fish. It's been named the best aquarium in America 4 times and it's in Missouri. Oh, and it lets you swim with sharks - really.

Have you ever been to Johnny Morris’ Wonders of Wildlife in Springfield, Missouri? For the past 4 years, it has been declared the best aquarium in America by USA Today readers. That's no small achievement.

It's more than just a bunch of fish behind glass. They offer experiences including a dive with sharks in 2 different varieties. They have an "Out to Sea Feeding Frenzy" where you can safely view these sea predators feed from a tank. There's a more exotic "Out to Sea Shark Dive" where you're underwater in a metal cage with all kinds of sharks swirling around you. If you have any shark phobias, you'll likely want to take a hard pass unless you're ready to face your fears.

According to the Johnny Morris' World of Wonders website, no diver certification is needed. Just a lot of bravery.

The entire aquarium has been created in a massive 350,000 square foot space. If you've never been there, it's hard to communicate just how big this place is. Your jaw will drop the moment you walk in the door.

I'm not trying to sound like a fanboy, this is just one of the most special places you'll find in Missouri and just maybe all of America if the USA Today readers are right.
