American Kennel Club Names Top Dog For 2020
There's nothing like coming home and having my two dogs Max & Daisy snuggle up to me and say hello, its the best feeling in the world. So, if your looking for a new adventure in adopting a dog, check out the list of top breeds in the USA.
I am a small dog person, not that I don't love all size dogs, I just tend to lean more toward small dogs. For our next dog adventure my husband and I are looking for a French Bulldog, and no we will not go to a breeder we are an adopt not shop family. So, it's not surprise that the French Bulldog lands on the list at #2, but sadly not #1. The top breed of 2020 is...a Labrador. Here's the top five:
- Lab
- French Bulldog
- German Shepherd
- Golden Retrievers
- Bulldog
These are all popular breeds, and lately there haven been stories of French Bulldogs being stolen from their owners, such as Lady Gaga. They are very expensive dogs, and French Bulldog owners are becoming a little more cautious when leaving their Frenchie out in the yard.
My Maxers is known as a Shih-weenie (Shih Tzu/Dachshund Mix) so he's technically not on this particular list. However, the Dachshund is in the top 10 of the list which is complied by the American Kennel Club. What I also found very surprising is that there are over 190 breeds of dogs, 190 that's just crazy to me. So, there's got to be a dog for you out there. Always try to adopt, there are some great dogs who need fur-ever homes. Check your local humane society, and really think hard before you get a dog, they are a lot of fun, but a ton of responsibility.
