Unearthed: 1971 Alice Cooper Show in St. Louis
Imagine stepping into a time machine and traveling back to 1971 when a young Alice Cooper and his original band performed in the nearly forgotten St. Louis Annex. That is almost a possibility now as a rare recording of that St. Louis show by Alice has now been found.
It was December 17, 1971 when a very raw Alice Cooper appeared at the St. Louis Annex. This was one of the first shows Alice would do after the release of his album "Killers" in November of 1971.
Among the setlist that cold December night would be some eventual Alice Cooper classics like "I'm Eighteen".
A complete recording of that legendary Alice Cooper show in St. Louis has now been shared on YouTube in its entirety. Boa constrictors and the chopping up of baby dolls had become a part of Alice's routine by then.
The following year, Alice Cooper's career would explode into greater superstardom with "School's Out" being released and by 1975, he would be a solo attraction before morphing into an 80's icon, too. Alice Cooper just reunited with his original band this year to try and capture some of that original magic that was on display in St. Louis late in 1971.
