I have been a radio guy for more than 40 years and a tech nerd almost as long. That's why I tend to spend a lot of time exploring new technologies including artificial intelligence. I asked the "robots" some questions and got some surprising answers including 6 places in Missouri the "machines" say you should avoid at all costs.

One of the unnerving things about artificial intelligence to me is how the algorithm seems to want to think for itself. I started asking the chat bots some questions and the artificial intelligence program started warning me to stay away from places in Missouri once it realized I live there. I expected that St. Louis, Kansas City and maybe Springfield would be Missouri places of concern. Nope. The robot had others in mind.

Here are the 6 Missouri places artificial intelligence is concerned about (allegedly):

Hillsdale, Missouri

Hillsdale, Missouri is a part of the greater St. Louis area, so it's not surprising the robots would warn me about it. But, there are many other parts of the big city that are much more dangerous. One review on Niche said there are practically no jobs there so perhaps the Ai routine was worried about me being unemployed (a valid concern)

St Joseph, Missouri

The chat bot said to stay away from St. Joseph. Along with having one of the highest rates for violent sexual crimes, the robots don't like many other things about St. Joe including the propensity to have violent storms roll through.

Brumley, Missouri

One word came back from the robots about Brumley, Missouri: Haunted

Branson, Missouri

The chat robot came back with two words from Branson: Tourist Trap. Oh, and two other words: Stay Away.

Jefferson City, Missouri

Another surprise on the "don't go there" Ai list was Jefferson City, Missouri. Could it have something to do with the belief that the old Missouri State Penitentiary is the most haunted building in America? Perhaps the robots are afraid of prisoner ghosts?

New Madrid, Missouri

Another curious warning from artificial intelligence. It said that New Madrid, Missouri should be avoided "because of the large, destructive earthquake that's coming". Gulp.
