2 of the Best Family Places in the World are in Missouri
If you enjoy travel and have children, it's good to know that two of the best destinations for families just so happen to be in Missouri according to a new international ranking.
One of the world's premier travel websites TripSavvy says that in their new 2022 Editor's Choice of places that they say are "Best for Families" to travel to are both in Missouri. The 2 locations are:
1. Johnson's Shut-Ins State Park - 148 Taum Sauk Trail, Middle Brook, Missouri
2. Shaw Park - 27 S Brentwood Blvd, Clayton, Missouri
They were impressed with Johnson's Shut-Ins State Park and "the small water holes are now connected by chutes and waterfalls that allow visitors to slide, splash, and frolic from one pool to another". They also liked the wide variety of hiking, cabins and horse trails.
Shaw Park won points thanks to the fact that it is 48 acres in metro St. Louis that's a "family-friendly oasis enchants with paved walking paths, waterfalls, vibrant gardens, and art installations...several playgrounds stocked with swings, slides, teeter totters, and bench seating for bedraggled parents who need a minute to rest".
Only a handful of locations get this notoriety, so the fact that 2 of the winners are in Missouri is high praise for the Show Me State being a great place for families to travel. It's made better since both of these places are pretty much right here in our own backyard. Sort of.
