100+ Degrees? Triple Digit Heat Possible for Missouri this Week

The air conditioning and fans are your friend especially this coming week in Missouri. The expectations are that triple digit heat is possible for much of the state thanks to the jet stream.

The National Weather Service out of St. Louis shared their weather story for the coming week and it's a potential hot one.

If you look at the forecast for Hannibal specifically, you'll see expected highs in the upper 90's expected especially closer to mid-week.

It's important to note that cloud cover could cool things off a little bit. "Could' is the key word because Wednesday skies are expected to be clear as a bell and that's the day when some of the most intense heat could be happening. Again, make sure your fans and/or air conditioning are in good shape. You're gonna need them.

How to best stay cool in hot weather?

The Federal Emergency Management Agency recommends staying hydrated, making sure your home has good insulation to keep any cooling solutions you have inside and avoiding strenuous activities if possible. If your home becomes intolerable because of air conditioning failure, make sure to seek out public buildings that have air conditioning.
