Not only have I lived in Missouri a majority of my life, but I've also ridden nearly every single rollercoaster the state's ever had. Because of this life pattern, I thought I was a Missouri rollercoaster expert, but this proves I certainly am not. Did you know the world's fastest spinning coaster is in Missouri? I didn't, but it's true.

I saw this come up on my Facebook feed today and it educated me about something I did not know about Missouri and coasters. The Historic Coaster Foundation says that the Time Traveler in Silver Dollar City, which was built in 2018, is the world's fastest spinning rollercoaster.

Fastest, steepest and tallest spinning rollercoaster in the world located in Silver Dollar City in Branson, Missouri. I had no idea.

The official Silver Dollar City site says that the Time Traveler cost $26 million dollars to create and is indeed a record-breaker. Here are some facts they shared about this interesting Missouri coaster:

  • 95-foot tall vertical loop
  • 50.3 miles per hour
  • 10-story, 90-degree vertical drop
  • 100 feet tall

One caveat is Silver Dollar City does not operate this coaster when the temp drops below 41 degrees Fahrenheit. That means you better grab a ride before the arctic blasts begin, am I right?
