Winter Storm Warnings, Watches for New Year’s Day

It looks like 2021 is coming in like a lion in northeast Missouri and western Illinois.

The National Weather Services has posted, depending on where you are, Winter Storm Warnings and Winter Storm Watches for New Year's Day.

Forecasters are calling for heavy mixed precipitation to begin early Friday morning, with up to two inches of snow and up to a quarter of an inch of ice expected, along with winds gusting up to 30 miles per hour. Slippery road conditions are expected.

The Winter Storm Warning for Pike County, Illinois and Audrain, Monroe, Pike and Ralls counties in Missouri runs from midnight until 3 p.m. Friday.

The Winter Storm Warning for Adams and Brown counties in Illinois and Knox, Lewis, Marion and Shelby counties in Missouri runs from 3 a.m. to 9 p.m. Friday.

The Winter Storm Watch for Hancock County, Illinois and Clark County, Missouri runs from 6 a.m. to midnight Friday.
