I have no problem with stores that are meant for a certain class of people. Not everything needs to be accessible to regular not rich guys like me. There are some that believe that there are 4 Missouri grocery store locations that are meant only for the rich and famous, but is that really true?

Wealth and costs are very much a relative thing. When I see someone driving a new car, that's something my family doesn't even think about and that's fine. The same can be said for fancy grocery stores. For the rich and famous, those expensive places are just a location to get food - or for their assistants to go get food for them.

This has become a topic again because Delish has a much-shared article about what they believe are the most overpriced grocery stores in America. Their choice for the queen of expensive grocery places only has 4 Missouri locations.

The store that has been crowned as the most overpriced in America is Whole Foods. If you want to find one in Missouri, prepare for a trip into extravagance (in a food way) to these Missouri addresses:

  • 1160 Town and Country Crossing Dr - Town and Country, MO 63017
  • 1601 S Brentwood Blvd - St. Louis, MO 63144
  • 4577 W Pine Blvd - St. Louis, MO 63108
  • 301 E 51st St - Kansas City, MO 64112

It's no coincidence that Town and Country, Missouri is the one Missouri place where most of the rich and famous call home and I don't say that with envy. Good for them.

But is Whole Foods really only a grocery store for the elite in Missouri?

Absolutely not. I was looking at an actual sales flyer for the Town and Country, Missouri location and while the prices are slightly higher than I'm used to seeing, it's not like tomatoes are the price of a Porsche.

This is one of those instances where perception is reality. Many believe that Whole Foods is for the super-rich but it's really just a nice grocery store that probably wasn't meant for you or me. And, I have no problem with that whatsoever.
