Missouri is just now starting to dig out from winter storm Blair, but you need to be aware that another system is expected to bear down on the state at the end of the week and all of the state is now in the path.

Have I mentioned how much I hate snow? That's why I was not pleased to see a change in the computer models when I woke up this morning. Meteorologist Travis Roberts of the Weather with Travis YouTube channel showed what Friday now looks like in Missouri. Previously, it looked like only the southern part of the state and the bootheel in particular would be experiencing another winter storm. Now, it looks like all of us are about to experience Deja vu.

This is early Friday morning.

By the time we reach mid-morning, nearly all of Missouri could be seeing snowfall.

If I'm understanding these maps, the darker blue is potentially heavier snow bands which will be prevalent by middle of Friday in some parts of Missouri.

Expect more of the same as Friday afternoon also looks snowy.

It does not appear at this time that there will be big accumulation as this is the current snowfall total estimate.

Even the National Weather Service in Springfield, Missouri is talking about the Friday possibilities.

A reminder that this is just what a computer model is showing is possible and is NOT a forecast. Do NOT make any important decisions on what a computer model shows. That should only happen when the National Weather Service issues an official advisory or warning. Still, you need to know that if you live in or plan to travel through Missouri this Friday, January 10, you may be dealing with yet another slam from a winter system.
