Stream Rare Van Halen 1982 Concert from Checkerdome in St. Louis
Thanks to a recent discovery, you can now stream a rare 1982 Van Halen concert they performed at the Checkerdome in St. Louis as it was recorded directly from the soundboard.
Music Media Archives just dropped this gem on YouTube yesterday. The date was August 6, 1982 when Van Halen brought their Diver Down tour to St. Louis, Missouri in what used to be the Checkerdome also known as the St. Louis Arena. Here is the playlist for that night.
Here's the raw audio recorded directly from Van Halen's soundboard that night.
Based on the comments on this new YouTube share, that St. Louis appearance by Van Halen was the first concert for many. This was the era when the Checkerdome was the venue for many iconic rock performances including KISS. That local concert location was sadly demolished on February 27, 1999 bringing an end to a music era that will never be repeated in the St. Louis, Missouri region. We also don't have the talent of Eddie Van Halen with us anymore either, but at least recordings like this are preserved so we can go back and relive some of that event as it happened.
