There's a new ranking of the most underrated diners in each state by Cheapism and their choice for Missouri is a good one. It's the Courtesy Diner at 1121 Hampton Avenue in St. Louis. They first opened their doors way back in 1935 and remain one of the most cozy diners you'll find in Missouri. If you look at Courtesy Diner menu, you'll notice that their food is still unbelievably affordable. I can't think of any other food place in the St. Louis area that has burgers any cheaper than they do. While they've added menu items over the years to become more modern, the Courtesy Diner will always be known for the Slinger.

I was checking recent Yelp reviews for the Courtesy Diner and here are what recent visitors are saying:

Harrison A: "Food good. Food cheap. Vibes. What more can you ask?"

Hector A: "The chef was just lovely, I observed her vibing to the music while preparing orders, and there's NO WONDER why the food tastes like HOME."

Will S: "Great breakfast spot. Has everything you could want in a diner plus friendly staff. We got the slinger and it was the best..."

Very cool for a Missouri diner with this much history to get such a nice national shoutout. I don't get to St. Louis as often as I'd like these days, but this diner is right down my alley for the type of food and vibe I value. Underrated indeed.
