7 Things You Should NEVER Ever Do at Missouri’s Lone Buc-ee’s
I don't get nearly as excited about gas stations and convenience stores as most people apparently do. Yes, I do think it's awesome that Missouri finally has it's own Buc-ee's, but it hasn't changed my life dramatically. I have heard that there are many things you should do there and as many things that you should never ever consider doing. Let's focus on that last part.
It was December of 2023 when Buc-ee's opened it's first Missouri location at 3284 N Beaver Road in Springfield. In typical Buc-ee's style, it's huge and has a lot of things to check out. Whatever you do, please don't do these things though if you make a stop there.
1. Don't park at the gas pumps then go shopping inside for 2 hours
This is a pet peeve of many and is an easy trap to fall into. You stop and get gas and then go inside to see what Buc-ee's has to offer. After 2 hours of consuming Beaver Nuggets, you emerge only then freeing up the gas pump your vehicle has been sitting in front of.
2. Do not be tempted to scarf several jars of the spicy things Buc-ee's has to offer if you're on a long road trip
If you are swayed into purchasing the jarred jalapenos and/or garlic, I'm not judging. However, please oh please do not consume them if you're in the middle of a 5 hour road trip. You won't make it much past Springfield, Missouri or Branson before you'll have (*ahem*) an emergency. Don't ask me how I know this.
3. Do not (I repeat) do not buy the Buc-ee's 5-Fire Roasted Peppers without a huge beverage
Have you ever set your lungs on fire? I'm asking because these 5-Fire roasted peppers are a similar experience that is unquenchable unless you also have a 30-ounce cold beverage to lessen the impact. This also would be included in warning #2 about long road trips.
4. Do not let your kids empty the candy wall unless their car seats are padded
You cannot imagine the sugar rush that will ensue 30 minutes after you leave Buc-ee's if your kids have left with an armload of their candies. It's a clear and present danger to your traveling sanity.
5. Don't abuse the Buc-ee's refill options
Buc-ee's is generous with their trust system on refills. If too many abuse this refill kindness system, all of us will be punished and that would make many of us not have a happy face.
6. Don't be tempted to convert your nighttime wardrobe into Buc-ee's attire including boxer shorts and stocking cap
Here's a Missouri Buc-ee's fact: Buying the Buc-ee's boxer shorts and stocking cap for your nighttime wardrobe will NOT improve your love life. Trust me on this one.
7. Do not yell at the Buc-ee's fudge workers
We all know that you came to the lone Missouri Buc-ee's because you've heard their fudge is legendary, but please don't yell at the fudge workers as it will not make them give you your fudge faster. We've Someone else tried.
