Remember when Christmas was all about spending time reminiscing with family and friends? If you feel like the Christmas season is too commercialized, then make a plan to visit enchanting Main Street in St. Charles, Missouri. This charming town in Missouri, west of St. Louis, has one of the most enchanting Main Streets in the country.

While I have not been there myself, I have a couple of friends who have and they highly recommend that you make the stop if you ever head toward St. Louis.  Their historic Main Street in St. Charles is a "must" stop during Christmastime.

The St. Charles Christmas traditions feature a variety of free events, including a Santa Parade, held every Saturday and Sunday at 1:30 p.m.

Other events include candlelight readings of "The Night Before Christmas," performances of "A Christmas Carol," and an Ice Block Party at Berthold Square.

On Christmas Eve at 1:30 p.m. the closing ceremony will take place when Santa and Mrs. Claus will make their way back to the North Pole in a horse-drawn carriage.
