These Museums Are FREE For Illinois Residents On These Days Only
Although summer vacations might be over, you can always plan a weekend getaway to Chicago this fall to take advantage of these deals.
The ever-popular Free Museum Days are back throughout the month of September for Illinois residents. You can save plenty of money just by showing a proof of address (and in Chicago, that's a major plus). I have been to all of these museums and they are well worth it for the entire family--fun AND educational. Here are the days to be aware of if you are looking for a weekend getaway with the family:
- Adler Planetarium - Free for Illinois residents on September 9 and 16
- Field Museum - Free for Illinois residents on September 15, 16, 17, & 30.
- Museum of Science and Industry - Free for Illinois residents on September 4, 5, 9, 10, 11, 12, 16, 17, 18, 19, 23, 24, 25, 26, and 30.
- Shedd Aquarium - Free for Illinois residents every day through September 30.
Definitely not a bad way to spend a weekend or a few days if you can swing it. And in my opinion, this time of year is perfect to take a trip north and enjoy the Windy City.
