The Great Debate of 2020
To wear a mask, or to not wear a mask, that is the question.
What a year, this will definitely go down in the history books. From a global pandemic, riots, senseless killings, and masks or no masks, this year everyone will be talking about. The face mask debate it one that is a continuous battle between Americans. Some feel it’s their constitutional rights being taken away from the government telling them they have to wear a mask to attend school, go into businesses, or just walk. Some feel it is necessary from keeping the virus from spreading, and to help bend the curve.
Who's right and who's wrong? I'm not about to answer that, but I will say this. I don't wear a mask because I am told to by government officials, I wear a mask to protect my family, friends, co-workers, and community. I wear a mask when shopping to keep other customers and staff safe. I wear a mask because I FEEL it's the right thing to do, and this is my choice not the governments.
Now, I am not here to preach to anyone who decides to not wear a mask, this is America and that is your right. However, I ask you this, if you weren't told by government officials to wear a mask to keep your community safe would you still not wear one? Think of it this way, it’s like telling your child they have to clean their room. Yes, they may not want to, but they need to and they make kick and scream about it, but they end up cleaning their room. Instead of arguing with each other, let’s work together to make the Tri-States COVID-19 cases go down.
Look, I am a radio personality. I am not a doctor, nurse, government official, scientist, or a front-line worker. I am simply a radio show host who cares about her family and friends to wear a mask. Both sides are right, and both sides are wrong, but I ask you Tri-States to think about this. Respect others opinions, beliefs, and choice. I have seen so much hate in the Tri-States these last few months and weeks it makes me sad. Respect each other’s difference’s in opinion, and remember we are all in this together.
