Recycling

Plastic bottles and aluminum cans have a secret: keeping them whole could actually make recycling easier. Who knew?

Everyone has items that are either broken and/or no longer useful and many take up lots of space. Did you know there are 10 items you can't legally dump in a Missouri landfill or you'll face legal consequences.

If I'm being truthful with myself, I'm probably not putting out enough effort to properly recycle items. However, in my defense, there are a number of items that you'd think a person in Illinois could recycle, but can't. The list includes some curious things.

I am sometimes guilty of not throwing enough stuff away as the phrase "pack rat" has been used to describe me. However, I'm safer than most in Missouri as there is a long list of things you can't legally throw away without facing consequences if you're caught.

I was brought up to believe that you should recycle everything you can to avoid creating unwanted waste in a community. That turned out to be true, but I was truly surprised by many things I thought you could recycle in Missouri, but really can't.
