No child should ever awake on Christmas morning without a gift. With that in mind, I came up with an idea 8 years ago called "Load the Lobby". Basically, it was an empty floor in our station lobby that needed to be filled with toys for the less fortunate kids in the area. I had no idea how many toys we would collect that first year, but even if we collected 10 toys it was worth it.

Next Friday at 9 a.m. is the last chance to help the less fortunate kids in the area by “Loading our Lobby” at the Y101 and KICK-FM studios with new or good used toys and books that your children no longer use. From now until then we are asking that you help us Load the Lobby by dropping off donations at our lobby at 24th and Broadway, behind the Coach House Restaurant.

The 7th annual Load the Lobby campaign has come to a close. Thanks to you, we were able to fill up an entire van, and an entire SUV with toys to benefit The Salvation Army's Toy Town, which will provide Christmas toys for over a thousand area children!
