Folklife Festival

Of all the fall events cancelled for COVID, the Hannibal Folklife Festival is a favorite that won't happen this year. However, a few vendors have decided to make do with a pared-down event.

I remember hearing a long time ago that the best way to tell the locals from the tourists at Hannibal's Autumn Historic Follklife Festival is that the tourists are there for the crafts, and the locals are there for the food.

The third weekend in October is one I wait for year after year. There is so much going on in the Tri-States. The Early Tin Dusters Fall Color Run in Quincy, the Folklife Festival in Hannibal, the Fall Color Drive in Pike County, and the Louisiana Country Colorfest are just a few of the annual events that take place on the third weekend in October.

Here's a rundown of who's serving what during the 2013 Folklife Festival, according to the Hannibal Arts Council.

This weekend the 37th annual Autumn Historic Folklife Festival will take place in America's Hometown. Twain on Main was held on Memorial Day Weekend, and the Downtown Hannibal Art Fair is a summertime festival that draws visitors from around the region to Main Street. What is the difference between these festivals?
