This year's 2014 Veteran's Day Parade in Quincy will be held on Saturday, November 8. The Veteran's Parade Committee, led by Chairman Dick McKinney, works all year long on organizing this wonderful event. It was back in 2008 when Dick McKinney asked me if I would come to a meeting to help revive the Veteran's Day Parade in Quincy. It had been some 35 years since Quincy held a Veteran's Day Parade and Dick was hoping I would be able to share some contacts and information from the St. Patrick's Parade with him. I was more than happy to assist.

I remember meeting with the parade chairmen Jim Ponsot and Dick McKinney five years ago to discuss putting on the first parade. We had no idea how many entries we would have but to see it nearing 80 this year is fabulous.

This year's parade will be held from 12th to 5th on Maine Street and will begin at 10 a.m. with the lineup beginning at 9 a.m. from

Hats off to Jim Ponsot and Dick McKinney, the parade chairmen, and their parade committee for pulling this off.
