A couple of local non-profit organization and an area college are teaming up to bring the preschool reading program that bears the name of a country music icon to a Lewis County school.
The Samantha Otte Youth Opportunity Fund awarded $18,000 in grants to fourteen not-for profits. They were awarded on January 6, focusing on local youths' artistic, leadership and humanitarian efforts.
The Advocacy Network for Children has recently received several grants to enhance their mission of advocating for abused and neglected children in the area. The agency was awarded three grants through the Community Foundation Serving West Central Illinois & Northeast Missouri.
The Community Foundation will award more than $22.000 in grants to 18 organizations from the Samatha Otte Youth Opportunity Fund at a presentation on Monday, January 6. These grants will be presented to organizations that provide leadership, artistic, humanitarian, and/or community betterment opportunities for youth.
