We all start to get in the holiday spirit during the month of November. Here’s a look at fun things to do around the Quincy/Hannibal area in November 2015.
The Quincy Park District will now offer a Quench Buggy for use at community events. This will be unveiled to the public on Wednesday, October 7 at 10 a.m. at the Park District office.
The first Christmas gift of 2015 for the area was announced this morning when the organizers of the annual Avenue of Lights in Quincy announced that the Quincy Exchange Club will be taking over the operations of the event on April 1st.
The Annual Avenue of Lights opens Thanksgiving night with over 100 lighted displays in Moorman and Wavering Parks in Quincy. This year’s Avenue of Lights is the biggest, brightest and most animated yet with more than 350 separate pieces and over 15 miles of lights!
It is almost that time of year, a time when the family and friends pile into the family car and drive through the incredible Avenue of Lights. Beginning Thanksgiving night, November 27, and running through January 1, the Avenue of Lights will take over the Wavering/Moorman Park complex with more than 350 separate pieces and over 15 miles of lights.
Area groups interested in raising funds for their organizations by staffing the Avenue of Lights should contact the Quincy Area Chamber of Commerce by October 31.
