The not-for-profit North East Community Action Corporation, NECAC, is taking applications for summer energy assistance.

The Summer Energy Crisis Intervention Program is a federally funded program that pays overdue electricity bill up to $300 for income qualifying households. NECAC has $373,644 in summer ECIP dollars available, a little more than the $318,294 the agency had last summer when assistance was provided to 1,403 households in 12 counties.

Participants must have received a utility shut-off notice. If they received assistance from the winter portion of the program through NECAC, all they will need is the shutoff notice.

You may sign up by calling any NECAC County Service Center in Lewis County, MO at (573) 288-3969.
