Top Missouri Pizza Place Got Famous with Guy Fieri for Ravioli
A Missouri restaurant was just given a nice honor being chosen as one of the top 100 pizza spots in America, but it really gained fame when Guy Fieri raved about their ravioli years ago on his TV show.
Yelp just recently released their new top 100 pizza spots in America based on reviews and ratings by people they call their "elites" who are their "most passionate and trusted reviewers and influencers". In that list, the only Missouri place that gets recognized is Anthonino’s Taverna in Saint Louis, Missouri.
What's a bit ironic is that most of America became familiar with Anthonino's in St. Louis when they appeared with Guy Fieri who filmed an episode of Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives on his Food Network show.
This is quite a versatile little place as they have some Greek cuisine as well. But, as a resident of the very Italian "The Hill" part of St. Louis, it's the pizza and ravioli that win the day.
It's easy to understand how they just got this recognition from the Yelp elites as a reviewer just shared a pic of pizza from Anthonino's Taverna just a few days ago. It's interesting that many reviewers say that while the pizza is amazing, it's not St. Louis style per se. Still, for a St. Louis pizza place to be named one of the top 80 pizza destinations in America is quite an achievement.
