Well, this was unexpected. A major Missouri hospital has announced its plans to close which will result in the layoff of more than 200 workers who will now be jobless starting in just a few weeks.

This new WARN notice that was just posted to the Missouri Jobs site shows a grand total of 210 workers will be affected by the closure of a Missouri hospital. It revealed that St. Luke’s Episcopal - Presbyterian Hospital located at 2345 Dougherty Ferry Road in St. Louis plans to close that facility with layoffs set to begin on August 1, 2025 and be completed no later than August 22, 2025. According to the WARN notice submitted to the state of Missouri, workers will be either released or transferred to a different facility depending on the needs of the hospital.

The notice goes on to say that the workers at this Missouri hospital were notified on June 23, 2025 of their job future. There is no breakdown of how many of the 210 workers affected by this layoff will be transferred or eliminated. As this is a developing story, it will be updated if new information is released about the closure of this Missouri medical facility.
