Missouri’s Silver Dollar City Up for Top Theme Park Award

Silver Dollar City has been a family favorite of ours for as long as I can remember. That's why I was happy to hear that this special Missouri place is up for the top theme park in America award again this year.

If you don't already follow Silver Dollar City on social media, you should. They are endlessly entertaining. Mention sharks in their comments and don't tell them I sent you. I've lost count of how many times my family has vacationed at Silver Dollar City when I was a kid and it's not just for the amusement park, but also Marvel Cave under them.

What award is Silver Dollar City up for?

The park shared this news on Facebook that they are once again up for the best theme park in America award.

The award is given out by USA Today who are counting votes right now for their annual best theme park in America poll. I know that Silver Dollar City has won this fan vote for several years, but I can't remember how many years in a row. All I know is that this special Missouri park is a perennial contender among the USA Today audience.

I've heard it said that smell is one of the strongest memory enhancers and that's definitely the case for Silver Dollar City (and I mean that in a good way). The park had an atmosphere...a smell that I still distinctly remember from my childhood. I don't know if it's because of all the homemade treats made in the park or something else entirely, but I love the "feel" of Silver Dollar City. It feels like...home and that's likely an opinion shared by others who have voted this as America's best theme park for many years. Let's hope they come out on top of the 2026 USA Today poll, too.
