I have loved Trans Am muscle cars all of my life and the reason for that is partially due to the TV show Knight Rider. Did you know that the high tech Trans Am car K.I.T.T. from the show is in Illinois now and you can see it for yourself.

When Knight Rider started its run of 4 years on TV in 1982, I was 16 years old and that was bad timing for my bank account. One year later, my 2nd car after my 1st one was totaled in an accident was a 1982 Firebird (because I couldn't afford the insurance on an 8-cylinder Trans Am). I loved that car and if I could have gotten the front grill to light up with those classic K.I.T.T. red lights going back and forth, I would have done it in a second. I know that David Hasselhoff was on the show and there was a lady he liked on it also, but all I really remember is that car.

K.I.T.T. from Knight Rider is one of many classic and celebrity vehicles you can see inside the World Famous Volo Museum in Volo, Illinois. They also have the Speed Racer Mach V, the Ghostbusters car, a vehicle from Fast & The Furious and many many more. If you're a car fan like I am, you'll love this place. An appreciation for classic television and movie nostalgia just makes it that much better.
