Let's get this out of the way from the beginning. The fact that a secret military plane is directly over Missouri right now is no reason for alarm. It is interesting though that this interesting sky weapon didn't just fly over Missouri once, but is on its way back as of now.

The plane I'm talking about is the Boeing WC-135 Constant Phoenix. Wikipedia defines it as "a special-purpose aircraft derived from the Boeing C-135 Stratolifter and used by the United States Air Force. Its mission is to collect samples from the atmosphere for the purpose of detecting and identifying nuclear explosions."

I don't know why the Air Force allows this, but the Constant Phoenix (code name Cobra 31) is trackable on Flight Aware. This is the path it's on right now. Notice it flew directly over Missouri this morning and is on its way back across the state as of this writing on Wednesday, November 8, 2023.

Let me say again that just because this plane is flying back and forth over Missouri doesn't mean it's trying to detect anything, but I suppose it could and I just don't know it (or maybe don't want to know),

This US Air Force radiation-detecting plane is a fascinating piece of technology that is quite an intimidating sight on a runway.

I also find it interesting (although probably just coincidence) that the US military "Doomsday Plane" (aka Titan25) is also airborne as of right now. We do live in interesting if a bit unnerving times, don't we?

UPDATE: This keeps getting stranger. As expected, COBRA31 flew over Missouri again.

But, now it's been circling Des Moines, Iowa constantly...

Stay tuned. I'll update this if anything new and interesting develops.
