Business Insider first reported a total of 63 stores were being shuttered, with many employees and customers showing up to find notices on the door. A handful of stores will remain open for a few weeks before closing permanently. Of note, all of the stores in Alaska will be closing by the end of the month (they only had three total).

As for the locations in Illinois, the closures only affect stores in Batavia, Matteson, Moline, Naperville, Streamwood, Wheeling and Romeoville. With the exception of Moline, these are all Chicago area suburbs. Quincy remains unaffected. So we'll still be able to get sweet, sweet deals for the foreseeable future.

I know Sam is happy that Sam's Club is sticking around... at least until I open Brodie's Club across the street.
