Significant Tornado Appears to Have Impacted Rolla, Missouri Area
The expected strong thunderstorms aren't over yet, but already there are initial reports that a very significant tornado has impacted the Rolla, Missouri area.
The National Weather Service issued a tornado warning for Rolla, Missouri just over an hour ago and this radar image was shared on X by Nick Krasznavolgyi.
Weather Nation shared this crazy video of someone who ended up right in the middle of the Rolla twister.
It appears there is video footage from a MODOT camera shared on Instagram showing the tornado.
As of right now, there are no confirmed storm reports from the National Weather Service, but I've seen photos shared on X which showed some roofs that had ripped off of homes in the Rolla area and some power lines were reported down also. There is a confirmed storm report from the National Weather Service about the roof that was off the home.
As this is a developing story, it will be updated if video of the tornado and National Weather Service confirmation and storm reports are shared.
