As we get closer to March, our weather eyes will switch from watching out for incoming snow storms to vicious thunderstorms that will begin dropping tornadoes. How many twisters will Missouri & Illinois see in 2025? World famous storm chaser Reed Timmer has just shared his prediction for this year.

If you're somehow not familiar with Reed Timmer, what have you been doing with your time? He's been a part of Discovery Channel's "Storm Chasers" reality show and often works with Accuweather.

My wife, the meteorologist, alerted me to Reed's new share on his Facebook Meta page tonight revealing his pick for how many twisters Missouri and Illinois will see in 2025.

This is one time when I really hope Reed is correct. Last year, both Missouri and Illinois were pummeled by more than 100 tornadoes each and Illinois in particular was hit hard. Reed's post explains some of his Saturday night science about why he thinks we'll see the numbers he's predicting. I've seen enough computer models for March already that show our part of America is likely to get off to an exciting start with extreme changes in temperatures from very cold to very warm and back again that it would not surprise me if we start seeing twisters sooner rather than later.
