Health and safety are of the utmost priority for all businesses and organizations these days, and that has forced some changes to the live events that were scheduled at the Quincy Public Library.

The Quincy Public Library announced today on their Facebook page that they will suspend in person events, they went on to say...

"We have made the difficult decision to suspend our in-person events and activities starting on Monday, August 3. Given the continued rise in cases and the warning level issued from IDPH, we feel it is most important to err on the side of caution. Though we were following all health recommendations for gatherings, we want to make sure we are doing our part to keep the community safe. We will be releasing a calendar of digital programs soon....All other services remain fully operational. We remain open to the public for browsing and checking out materials, computers, reference services, and more. Hours remain 9 am to 8 pm, Monday-Thursday, and 9 am to 5 pm, Friday and Saturday."

It is sad to see these events have to cancel, but I personally think it's great to see organizations and places like the Quincy Public Library continue to put the health and safety of the public, and their employees first during this coronavirus crisis. Also I can't wait to see what they come up with as far as digital events!
