Missouri Manufacturer Lays Off 84 Workers in Union

It appears that many in Union, Missouri will be looking for work soon as a manufacturer there has notified the state of an imminent mass layoff.

The newest WARN notice just posted to the Missouri Jobs site shows a large pharmaceutical manufacturing company in Union will be laying off workers starting in August. It says that Pharma Tech Industries located at 1310 Stylemaster Drive in Union, Missouri will begin staggered layoffs starting in August with a total of 84 workers who will be let go.

The WARN notice submitted to the state of Missouri says the following:

"This notice is to inform you of the permanent plant closure of PTI Missouri, LLC,
dba Pharma Tech Industries, located at 1310 Stylemaster Dr., Union, MO, 1335
Stylemaster Dr., Union, Mo, and 1 Transtech Dr., Union, MO."

The letter says there are no unionized workers and no bumping rights in this mass layoff.

There is no indication if the workers being released will be offered opportunities at the Georgia location of Pharma Tech Industries or not. It would appear that these layoffs are permanent. This new round of layoffs brings the total who have lost their jobs in Missouri to 3,051 so far in 2025. Let's hope these displaced workers land on their feet in a better situation soon.
