Many have daydreamed about having Publishers Clearing House showing up at their door to reveal a huge sweepstakes prize. For nearly all in Missouri who have lived that dream, it just became a nightmare.

If you're one of those who won the Publishers Clearing House sweepstakes in the past, you might want to be sitting down for this news. CNN just reported that all Publishers Clearing House winners prior to July 15, 2025 will no longer be given their "forever" prizes. Publishers Clearing House has gone into bankruptcy and the company that bought what was left of the company, ARB Interactive, will not honor prizes given prior to that date as part of the agreement they made when thought purchased the assets of the company.

I remember when Johnny Carson's sidekick Ed McMahon was the spokesperson for Publishers Clearing House, but it turns out that wasn't true. He worked for American Publishers Clearing House apparently. Mandela effect? The company's official website says they have awarded over $492 million dollars in prizes over the years. Their sweepstakes were a very big deal and the company awarded a large number of prizes and now those forever winners are quite literally out of luck. I've seen stories of many who thought they were set for life now scrambling to figure out how they'll make ends meet now that the sweepstakes they thought they won are now gone. Dreams sadly have become a big nightmare.
