Party Supply Chain Suddenly Closing Missouri & Illinois Stores

The end of the year continues to be brutal for many retail chains as a party supply brand has announced they are suddenly closing all of their Missouri and Illinois stores after being in business for the past 38 years.

I first saw this report shared by CNN who said they learned that a party supply brand that first began in 1986 will be closing all of their stores with going out of business sales starting immediately.

The brand is Party City which has 33 locations in Illinois and a dozen in Missouri according to their store locator page.

According to Wikipedia, Party City was born in New Jersey in 1986.

When will Party City officially close the doors of their Missouri & Illinois stores?

The CNN report claims that employees have shared that they were notified that the end of February 2025 would be the final day stores would be open and their jobs would end at that time.

There's a chance the last day for business will be different for some Missouri and Illinois Party City stores depending on how quickly current inventory sells out.
