Speeder Busted Going 100+ MPH in Missouri Work Zone
I won't claim that I'm the patron saint of driving, but even I have never done anything like this. A speeder was just busted flying down a Missouri street doing triple digits which was made even worse by the fact that it happened in a work zone.
I just saw this harrowing moment shared by the Ozark, Missouri Police Department on their Facebook page. It was a pic of their speed gun after it measured a speeder doing more than 100 mph and it happened in a work zone.
Fortunately, no one was injured in this incident, but it often becomes a tragic tale. The Missouri Department of Transportation shared this graphic showing how many fatalities have happened in work zones in Missouri over the past several years.
The Ozark, Missouri Police tried to lighten the mood with the "we're not the Indy 500" comment, but it's really a terrible thing to fly through any work zone at that rate of speed. In my younger days, I'm sure that my Firebird was going faster than it should at times. I was blessed enough to live through that era with no one hurt including me. Others are not so fortunate.
