Nike Announces Mass Layoffs in Missouri
A new notice just submitted to the state of Missouri says that Nike plans to cut their workforce substantially in the state with hundreds losing their jobs in the next couple months.
The Missouri Jobs site posted a bulletin today that says Nike is laying off 172 workers from their St. Charles, Missouri facility. The WARN notice submitted by Nike explained what's happening and when:
"This is to advise you that employees working at the manufacturing facility that NIKE IHM, Inc. (dba AirMI) operates at 8 Research Park Drive, Saint Charles, MO 63304 (the “AM93 Facility”) will be notified that AirMI will permanently reduce its number of employees effective June 26, 2026. The number of employees affected is 172."
The notice goes on to say that none of the workers being laid off are represented by a union and none have bumping rights to other facilities. This is the view of the facility given by Nike to the state of Missouri.
This new layoff announcement bring the total in Missouri that have lost their jobs in 2026 to 1,530 according to the Missouri Jobs site. As this is a developing story, additional details will be added if there's a new statement from Nike to clarify the reason for this mass layoff event.
