My friends who don't live in Missouri sometimes laugh at me because of the things we get excited about in our part of America. New grocery stores are one of them. I will not apologize for the fact that I am very excited about a number of new grocery stores that Aldi is opening in Missouri soon and you might be, too.

I came across this interesting bit of Missouri grocery news that was shared by Cheapism today. They say that Aldi are opening a record-breaking 225 new stores this year. That includes several in Missouri. Here's the list of incoming Aldi stores in our beloved state:

1503 North Bluff St., Fulton, Missouri

I believe that most of these new Missouri locations are now already complete and either already open for business or about to. I have friends who have worked for Aldi over the years and they were big fans of the company. I have to admit that their "put a quarter in the shopping cart to unlock it" is a genius idea on how to manage carts that go rogue in the parking lot. I'll put that cart back so i get my quarter back for sure.

I'm always happy to be the messenger about new businesses opening instead of the ones who end up closing their doors even if it's just new locations of existing chains. New grocery options are good for everyone no matter if you shop there or not.
