
America’s Most Irish Town is in Illinois, But It’s NOT Chicago
As St. Patrick's Day approaches, thoughts are centered on Irish things. That includes towns and Illinois reportedly has one of the most Irish places in America and surprisingly it's not Chicago.
I would not be surprised if this creates a big objection from my friends in the Windy City. it's a new ranking from Livability of the 7 most Irish towns in America and you will find one of those is in Illinois. According to their numbers, this Illinois place not named Chicago has the 4th largest Irish population in the United States.
If it's not Chicago, what Illinois place is the new Irish king?
Give yourself a big bowl of Lucky Charms cereal if you guessed Naperville, Illinois as one of the 7 most Irish towns in America. Realtor.com agrees as it says that Naperville has the highest concentration of Irish-Americans in America. Impressive.
While I do think of the green Chicago river on St. Patrick's Day, I've always gotten a much more Italian vibe in Chicago than Irish. My question is how did South Bend, Indiana NOT end up on this list? All my Notre Dame friends are gonna be massively ticked. Rudy...Rudy...Rudy...
