I have many friends and family who either have or are over-the-road truck drivers and I can tell you it's a challenging life. That's why when I hear many in that vocation speak up warning about a dangerous stop, I pay attention and that's exactly what's happened regarding one specific truck stop in Missouri.

You might recall that there was a printed list of truck stops to avoid that was being passed around on Reddit a few years ago. What I'm sharing is NOT that as I've heard that previous list was a little outdated. What is interesting is the Missouri truck stop that truckers were warned about on this list is the same one that has just appeared on a relatively new one.

Trucking 101 recently shared a list of truck stops where there are safety concerns and/or reports of problems. There is only one Missouri truck stop on the list that they warn their drivers to avoid and it's this one.

This is Love's #461, I-70 Exit 246A in St. Louis. Missouri. If you look at an overhead map, you can see why some truck drivers might be wary of this part of St. Louis.

I want to be clear that I am not telling you to not stop at this truck stop. It could be that a few drivers had bad experiences there for one reason or another and are warning their fellow drivers about it. I just pass this along because I pay attention to what truck drivers have to say.

Something else to think about. If a truck stop becomes aware that there are problems, they hopefully work with local law enforcement to fix it and make it a safer place. Perhaps that's happened at this St. Louis, Missouri stop.

Even without knowing what the Trucking 101 site said, I do everything I can to avoid getting gas in metro areas. I would much prefer to stop either in a smaller town or a more wide open area where it's not so congested. As for you, your mileage may very well vary.
