I'm so used to seeing Lake of the Ozarks or Table Rock Lake mentioned as go-to Missouri places, I barely notice new lists that include them anymore. However, there's a recent one that claims the most 'crystal-clear lake in Missouri isn't Lake of the Ozarks or Table Rock. It's one you may have never heard of.

I saw this interesting share from MSN which names many nice Missouri lakes which the state obviously has a lot of. The ranking specifically names those whose water is not murky. Perhaps this is why Lake of the Ozarks didn't even make their top 5?

Yes, Table Rock Lake does come in their top 5, but number 1 is a bit unexpected unless you live in Lincoln County, Missouri.

What is Missouri's most crystal-clear lake?

MSN says it's Lake Lincoln near Troy, Missouri. Only In Your State concurs with that clear water description. Big well-deserved salute to Cuivre River State Park. Frankly, in my opinion it's about time that water areas NOT near Lake of the Ozarks or southern Missouri get some press. No offense to beautiful southern Missouri because it is stellar, but there are other regions of Missouri that aren't so bad either.

The great thing about the Lake Lincoln area is it's not far from just about anywhere in the state. You're only an hour from most of northeast Missouri and from the south, St. Louis.

It will only be a couple months before we can regularly get outside again and enjoy crystal-clear lakes like this one in Missouri. Cannot wait.
