After a somewhat toned-down version of National Tom Sawyer Days in a pandemic-plagued 2020, the Hannibal Jaycees have just announced a musical line-up that is sure to fire up the crowds in 2021.

According to the Hannibal Jaycees Facebook page, the kick-off concert for NTSD features Eddie Montgomery, with the popular country music group Montgomery Gentry. He’ll take the stage on Saturday, June 26 at the Jaycees entertainment venue Tanyard Gardens at Third and Lyon Streets.

Eddie Montgomery partnered with Troy Gentry to sing 20 singles that landed on the Billboard country music chart. They had several number one hits, including “If You Ever Stop Loving Me,” “Something to be Proud Of,” “Lucky Man,” “Back When I Knew It All,” and “Roll with Me.” Gentry died in a helicopter crash in 2017 as he was on his way to a performance in New Jersey. Montgomery continues to perform tours under the Montgomery Gentry name.

Tickets to Montgomery Gentry will be available soon. You can check the Hannibal Jaycees website for that link when it’s ready.

On Friday, July 2, tribute bands to REO Speedwagon and Bon Jovi are scheduled at Tanyard Gardens. On July 3, Buckcherry and Saliva will close out National Tom Sawyer Days.

Besides the music groups coming to Hannibal, all the other events we typically see at NTSD are back in the books for 2021. You can go to the Hannibal Convention and Visitors Bureau website to see the schedule.

This is the 66th year for National Tom Sawyer Days in Hannibal. The members work incredibly hard to put on the events that bring in people from all over the country. Their efforts are a huge boost to the local economy. Thank you Hannibal Jaycees. You rock!
