Surprise Missouri Town Tops in Rising Home Prices
If you had given me 50 guess about which Missouri town was seeing the largest jump in home prices, I wouldn't have even come close and there's a good chance that you'll be surprised also. There is data to back up the claims, though.
This new study by 24/7 Wall St reveals some very surprising results as they looked at home prices for the last year and then calculated which city in each state has seen the largest jump. Their pick for Missouri is unexpected to say the least.
Congratulations, Moberly, Missouri, the new king of skyrocketing home prices. Check out these real estate numbers showing home values in Moberly from last year compared to this year as calculated by Realtor.com and 24/7 Wall St. That first number is key. A more than 34% jump in home prices year-over-year. Wow.
- 1-year change in local median list price: +34.5% (+$58,550)
- Median list price in city: $228,450 in June 2025, $169,900 in June 2024
- 1-year change in median list price statewide: +0.5% (+$1,495)
- Median list price in state: $310,995 in June 2025, $309,500 in June 2024
- Number of homes on the market in the city: 106
The fact that I'm surprised by this is not meant to be an offense towards Moberly. I've lived near Moberly a good part of my life and think it's a fine place, but I have never viewed it as a real estate bonanza. Perhaps I should rethink that now.
