Officials in Missouri say this case may affect hundreds of children. A Missouri woman who was the foster parent for as many as 200 kids is now facing felony counts of child abuse as investigators are even trying to determine if she traded a child for a monkey.

The Lincoln County Missouri Prosecuting Attorney shared a status update on Facebook about disturbing charges against a Missouri woman. People Magazine said "they're looking into claims that she may have traded her foster daughter for a monkey."

"Brenda Deutsch of Winfield, Missouri has been taken into custody on three felony counts of neglect, child abuse and child endangering stemming from initial allegations of a missing child that was later located in the State of Texas. Bond has been set at $250,000.00 cash only."

People Magazine shared further details saying that the Missouri Department of Social Services’ Children’s Division had received more than 200 calls regarding this woman's foster children activity.

The Lincoln County, Missouri Sheriff's Office also stated on Facebook that the public should not rush to judgement when they don't have all of the information. Due to the sheer number of potential foster children and families involved, they expect the investigation will be a lengthy one.
