Missouri Winery Prepares for Last Pour After 25 Years
This had to be a very difficult decision to make. A beloved Missouri winery in one of the most beautiful parts of the state will sadly shut down forever after 25 years. They are planning their final pour just days from now.
I just saw this share by the Chaumette Vineyards & Winery on their Facebook page a few days ago. After 2 1/2 decades in the wine business, they are shutting down.
What began as just a winery grew into a resort with private villas for overnight stays, a pool, full-service restaurant and more. They are one of the many reasons why visitors flock to the Ste. Genevieve region of Missouri. You would be hard-pressed (no wine pun intended) to find a prettier part of the state. Chaumette Vineyards & Winery has been the site of many weddings over the years and I've seen many people in the comments section of their post sharing memories of special events held there.
I'm not certain of the complete backstory as to why they've decided to shut the winery down, but I certainly wish this family well. They have obviously made a difference in a lot of lives and this part of Missouri won't quite be the same without them.
