
Missouri Walmart Stores Recall Water Bottles That Have Blinded 2
There is a water bottle that has been widely available at Missouri Walmart stores that packs a nasty surprise. Several individuals have been injured when the top ejects and two people have suffered permanent vision loss which has resulted in an urgent recall by the government.
This new bulletin from the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission addresses a dangerous safety hazard that has been discovered in 850,000 water bottles from Missouri Walmart stores. This is the Ozark Trail 64 oz Stainless Steel Insulated Water Bottle.
There have been 3 reports of consumers being hit in the face by the top of this water bottle plus 2 have suffered permanent vision loss.
According to the government recall statement, if carbonated or perishable beverages are stored in this water bottle, over time pressure builds up causing the top to eject with an unexpected force and that's when the injuries are happening.
How can you tell if you have one of the defective water bottles?
Look for the model number model number 83-662 on the packaging. This affects the 64 ounce size of these bottles which were sold in Missouri Walmart stores for around $15. If you find you have this recalled bottle, please discontinue use and return to the store for a full refund.
