Missouri Taco Restaurant Closing Forever Because of Crime
It's already tough enough to be successful in the restaurant business without having to deal with nearby crime issues. That was the reason that one Missouri taco restaurant has decided to close its doors forever.
The announcement was made on Facebook/Meta just a few weeks ago that Wave Taco located at 1335 Convention Plaza in St. Louis would not be opening its doors for the 2025 season. Here's a snippet of what they just announced:
"It comes with a very heavy heart and many, many tears that Wave Taco will not be reopening this season. One of the main reasons is SAFETY for our customers and staff. The amount of gunshots we heard at night, police chases we witnessed, drug overdoses, even a drive-by shooting several years ago has made for an unsafe environment, especially given we are outside. We have had too many incidents over the years with break ins to the bar, car break ins and thefts."
This was a very unique place where sand volleyball and Mexican food united.
As they mentioned in the Facebook post, the sand volleyball leagues will continue at the Top Shooters Columbia, Illinois location. It's hard to blame these folks for not wanting to deal with nearby violence. Good for them to put the safety of staff and customers above business needs.
