Only 12 Missouri Hospitals Got a Perfect A for Patient Safety?

If anyone understands that a perfect grade is rare, it is me. That's why I find it impressive that a dozen Missouri hospitals were just awarded a perfect score for patient safety, but the number of overachievers seems to be falling.

My memory which is admittedly not what it used to be recalls that nearly 20 Missouri hospitals got a grade of A for patient safety back when Hospital Safety Grade issued their findings back during the Spring months.

How did they determine what grade Missouri hospitals received?

It's likely not what you think. This is not a measure of crime or violence, but how hospitals handle infections and how many instances compromise patient safety before, during and after surgeries. MRSA infections, urinary tract and blood infections all play  part in how Missouri hospitals are viewed. Here are the only 12 in Missouri that were just given an A:
