Ryan Hall: Missouri Heat Wave May End With Severe Storms
When you're talking about weather in Missouri, it's nearly impossible to have some good news without some bad news also. This is one of those instances. Internet weather personality Ryan Hall says that Missouri may finally see an end to the current heatwave, but it looks like that will happen by incoming potentially severe storms.
My dad used to say if you don't like the weather in Missouri, wait 10 minutes
Ryan Hall of Ryan Hall, Y'all fame on YouTube just shared a new update today on his channel about what he's seeing starting early next week. While Missouri will continue to bake under extreme heat through the weekend, he sees a big push of cooler air booming down over the state on October 8, 2025.
That line through the heart of Missouri is where he expects the cooler air to potentially cause a flare-up of severe thunderstorm activity. That doesn't necessarily mean tornadoes, but it will be something to watch as that front moves through next week. The good news is that it will drop temperatures severely with Missouri seeing as much as 20 degree below normal temps by October 9, 2025.
The other good news is that he believes that models show the temperatures will stay cool after the middle of next week for Missouri for the foreseeable. Could it be that Fall temperatures will finally take over or will the heat try to return with a vengeance? Since this is Missouri weather we're talking about, prepare for everything and anything.
When you consider what Ryan Hall has shared today, that makes this share by storm chaser Adam Lucio interesting about possible tornado development in October with Missouri in the middle of the area of concern.
One final disclaimer: I don't currently see any outlooks from NOAA's Storm Prediction Center showing the storm development next week that Ryan sees on the models. It's not unusual for the NOAA meteorologists to wait until just a couple days prior to issue advisories if they see trouble coming, but it's worth noting that not every model shows storms for Missouri next week. The final good news is nearly all seem to agree the state will get a break from the super-hot temps. Whew.
